you've got a friend in me

Three years of marriage. Three years of learning, growing, loving, laughing, and sweet friendship.  Marriage is truly the best refining process that I've ever experienced. I don't think I ever realized how sinful I am until I had to live under the same roof as my best friend. Oh how my sin is exposed! However, it has been a sweet process of refining. The best part is that in the end, no matter what, I am still loved unconditionally, which is such a beautiful picture of Christ and His church.



Another part of marriage that is the absolute best is the fact that you always have each others' back. I can always count on being supported 100%, and he has the same confidence in me. What a priceless relationship that we truly cannot find in many other human beings. I love knowing that I will come home from work being wholly and completely loved by Logan, no matter how bad I may have messed up that day. Such a powerful alliance marriage is! The best part is that with Christ at the center, we will not easily be broken.

As cheesy as this sounds, I have realized that over the past three years, we have become the best of friends. Even when we are just sitting on the couch watching a movie or doing chores around the house, there is nowhere I'd rather be than with him. I think the reason for that goes back to my last two points: he challenges me to be a better person, and he supports me unwaiveringly (I could say I want to go to the moon and he would not shoot me down!). Who wouldn't want to be with someone like that?!

To celebrate our third anniversary, we went out on a fancy date to the Tower Club in Springfield. It's on the 22nd story of the tallest building in Springfield. Great views, amazing food, and we even got to watch some fireworks at the Springfield Cardinals stadium! I don't have pictures from the night, because we went technology free (and let's be honest...there's just something special about keeping certain events intimate/not sharing with the world wide web). However, the next day, we had a mini photography session documenting our three years of marriage. After a few regular pictures, we changed clothes and had an absolute blast with a paint fight (suggested by the up & coming photographer Erin Byrd). I feel like it was the perfect photo shoot to describe this stage of our relationship.
